Founded in 2006 by "Java Jerry" Gerson, Water Witch has brought the Highlands community together for many years. From local heros to old-time surfers, wreck divers, artists and musicians, all still making waves along the coast. As of 2014 Valerie Browning became owner of Water Witch Coffee. The original dedicated crew can be found at the shop. Chef Kenny Harber continues to supply the shop with superb baked goods, brunch items, crepes and soups. Water Witch over the past few years has become a cultural hub of the Jersey Shore. The Water Witch Gallery hosts bi-monthly exhibits and art openings. Monthly Sunday jams and music events, as well as, weekly Wednesday Open mic and jams keep the place filled with awesome live music. The Water Witch Jazz Band over the past year has developed a captivating sound derived from classic jazz with a twist of pop. David Pershan (piano) and Steven Kelly (drums) have gained an audience eager to hear them again and again.
